ASC Afro Group is on the look for a Data Analysts to join our team on an internship period of six months. This is a remote and non-paying role, but the selected candidate will receive monthly allowance in compensation for internet data and other resources spent while working in the position. Full time and part-time applications will be accepted. It is important to note that evenings and weekends hours will be required. In this role, you will learn and develop in a fast-paced and, at times demanding, environment.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in data analysis, be enthusiastic about analysis and football, have a professional attitude and as well have good communication and presentation skills. You should be a team player, have the ability to take initiative and truly view yourself as a strong leader. You should also be flexible available to work weekends when required.
This role will involve working closely with the Head of Technical and other members of our performance team at AfroStat.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Help with the development of data-driven insight for use across the analysis department
- Support all aspects of pre and post-match – team and individual analysis
- Assist with daily workflow as well as support training and match day analysis
- Assist in departmental projects also compiling & researching relevant academic literature
- To liaise and work with clients, including players, coaches, teams, to ensure any additional analysis requirement for individuals and teams are met.
- Attend any relevant training requirements and contribute to staff meetings
- Assist in any ad-hoc duties when required
- Coaching experience (desirable)
- Football coaching qualification (desirable)
- Working knowledge of using SQL to extract and manage data (desirable)
- Must have experience of working with complex data sets.
- Must have experience of working with data visualisation and analysis tools (eg. Tableau, etc.)
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Must have working knowledge of a computer language to extract and apply statistical analysis (R or Python etc…)
- Must have attention to detail
