The African Sports Centre for Data, Research and Technology (ASC) is pleased to announce a partnership with equitysport.
This collaboration will see both organisations collaborate to drive the development of sport across the African continent through tackling inequalities that exist in sport.
The partnership is not only in line with our mission of championing the use of scientific and technical methodologies and innovations for the development of sports, largely by data, research and technology, but is also in line with our commitment to furthering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): (3) Good Health and Well-being, (8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, (9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and (17) Partnerships for the Goals.
“At ASC, our mission is to advance the use of data, research and technology in the African sporting landscape and addressing the inequalities that exist is one avenue of achieving that. We are delighted to partner with equitysport, who are doing absolutely incredible and relevant work in tackling inequalities that exist with global sport,” ASC Project Coordinator, Ewurama Kakraba-Ampeh said of the partnership.
equitysport is a UK based charity that exists to advance equality, diversity and equal opportunity in global sport in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through free-form development, education and targeted advocacy, the organisation seeks an inclusive global sporting landscape that lives up to the true values of sport; where anyone can strive to participate and realise their potential on an equal footing to anyone else, whoever they are, wherever they come from and whatever their background.
Tim Harper, Founder and Chief Exec at equitysport added, “Having spoken with Ewurama and Prince Narkotu Teye [Founder and Chief Executive] at ASC over the past few months, it was clear that the two organisations shared an ambitious vision of how some of the system-built inequities in global sport can be tackled.
“To partner with an organisation with their finger so firmly on the pulse and one ready to act was a no-brainer and we look forward to collaborating as we share, learn and develop together.”
