Internship Opportunity: Social Media Manager

ASC Afro Group is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team on an internship period of six months, with the possibility of permanent employment at the end of internship. The internship is a remote and non-paying role, but the selected candidate will receive monthly allowance in compensation for internet data and other resources spent while working in the position. Full time and part-time applications will be accepted, and applicants are advised to indicate which option they seek in their application.

The ideal candidate should have a professional attitude, with attention to detail and good communication skills. You should be a team player, have the ability to take initiative and truly view yourself as a strong leader. You will be responsible for developing, guiding and monitoring brand presence across multiple social media platforms, encompassing a wide range of disciplines and skills, including strategy development, project management, customer service, networking and content creation. Again, you must have knowledge and experience managing organic social across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.

This role will involve working closely with the Project Manager at ASC.

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Weekly and monthly reporting of channel performance
  • Daily and weekly scheduling of posts
  • Weekly briefing of assets needed
  • Monitoring and responding to customer feedback, comments and social media posts
  • Developing social media strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness and customer engagement
  • Creating captivating content for an organisation’s social media sites, which may include writing blogs, articles, posts and multimedia content
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and digital technologies
  • Developing monthly reports on emerging social media trends that will be submitted to the management and executive teams
  • Developing and overseeing competitions and campaigns to draw attention to a brand
  • Liaising with other departments and creatives to create a holistic and effective online marketing strategy
  • Candidate must have attention to detail and be able to work under timelines
